Argillite Gunar on Whale PlatterThis "Gunar on Whale" platter is hand carved in argillite in 1972 by Haida artist Ron Gitsgah Wilson. It features two inlays of abalone shell. It was acquired from a collection and is in very good condition. This carving represents the Haida Story where Nanasimgit, or Gunar, saves his wife from the Undersea World, to which a Killer Whale had kidnapped and taken her.
